OUR APPROACH

Process page, top

You've probably tried organizing your home/ office/ store room, and it becomes messy again in a matter of days.  That won't happen with us.

As professional organizers, our goal is to make it easy to maintain an organized home/ office/ store room so you won't even have to think about doing it.  The secret?  Our project methodology, which is based on warehousing science.  It simply works - our clients can attest to that.

Our organizing methodology has 3 simple parts.

THE OBJECTIVE

Let's be honest - we don't have time to go through 5 days of decluttering every 6 months and repeat the cycle ad infinitum.  It's like being stuck in purgatory.

In organizing, as in life, once is enough.  If done right, the mess never returns (assuming your lifestyle needs/ workflow/ space remains the same).

Amazon's warehouse doesn't descend into chaos every night, so why should your home/ office/ store room?

THE GOAL

Three R's are needed to achieve "Once Is Enough".   These 3R's make it easy to follow-through the right actions, so you'll keep the space organized without even thinking about it.

RETRIEVE

any item in 10 seconds or less

REPLACE

any item in 10 seconds or less

RESTORE

order when it's messy, in 5 mins or less

THE FRAMEWORK

To arrive at the 3R's, we apply a warehousing science framework called 5S developed by Toyota in the 1990's (read more here).  Using this framework, we are able to maximize efficiency in 3 areas:

  1.   Workflow (effort expended to complete a task)

  2.   Flow of human traffic

  3.   Space usage (in volume terms)

This structure makes it easy to Retrieve and Replace any item, and Restore order - so you'll never have to declutter and organize again

How are we different from interior designers?

We get asked this pretty often.  First, our perspective is different - we focus on the functional efficiency of the space.

Secondly, we look at individual items not only in terms of its category, but also in terms of function and usage.  For example, a generic category such as "books" is usually subdivided by function as follows, and each group is treated differently:

  • Casual reading books

  • Reference books

  • Work-related books

Finally, we take time to analyze the volume of these items.
